I love white sage but I have become partial to Palo Santo (Holy Wood) but more about that later. I love the way my atmosphere feels after smudging. Burning White Sage has nothing to do with religion but everything to do with setting intentions of what you want in your space and what you don't. Welcome love, peace, healing, light and release anger, negativity, and fear.
I'll burn sage if I sense negative energy or heaviness in or around my home. I'll burn it for no reason at all because I like the way it smells. However, no matter the reason, I set my intention.Sometimes, I'll walk about and pray. And at other times, I'll place it in an abalone shell and allow it to burn as it pleases for as little or as long as it wants. The great thing is that it will go out on its own unless it's agitated (fan or wind blowing to keep the fire burning).
It's enjoyable to watch as the smoke dances about, the whirls and twirls and just imagine any heaviness or negativity being caught up in the smoke and carried away and replaced with it's opposite..ahhh emotional cleansing if nothing else.
Each Sage Wands comes with a Cleansing Prayer that simply states.
I AM now choosing to cleanse myself. And release any and all thought forms, beings, situations and
energies that are no longer of service to my highest and greatest good…across all planes of my existence, across all universes, and across all lifetimes. I ask that all energies that are less
than love be transmuted for the highest good of all and so it is.
